Building the EuroStack, in the European Parliament
On 24 September 2024 a cross-party group of MEPs from the EPP, S&D, Renew, and the Greens hosted Toward European Digital Independence: Building the EuroStack in the European Parliament, curated by Francesca Bria, Cristina Caffarra, and Meredith Whittaker. Industry, technologists, institutions, think tanks, and civil society gathered around one idea: that Europe needs a European industrial policy for its digital infrastructure, from connectivity to cloud, AI, and platforms. I was one of the speakers. The EuroStack initiative grew out of that day; its pitch document followed in January 2025.
