Local-First Conf gathered the local-first software community in Berlin on 12–14 July 2026. I took part in the panel Data Ownership Beyond Local First, moderated by Eileen Wagner, with Paul Frazee (Bluesky), Boris Mann (Ink & Switch), and Zenna Fiscella (Scuttlebutt): keeping data on your own device is a start, but ownership is about who governs the protocols, identities, and infrastructure that data moves through.
